India has the almost highest amount of growing population in the world, as we compare the amount of population with the production of food its is even increasing. With growing population the requirements for food items has been growing tremendously. This has put pressure on the farmers to produce crop which can feed the requirements of ever increasing population. As a result, the use of fertilizers is growing at a fast rate.
These fertilizers raise the production of crop by increasing the fertility of the soil. These are chemical which are not harmful, they only make the soil fertile which increases the life of soil. Farmers utilize fertilizers usually adding them into the soil.
There are mainly two categories of fertilizers organic and inorganic. Organic fertilizer is composed of decayed plant/animal matter while the latter one is composed of simple chemicals and minerals. When applied properly organic fertilizers can improve the health and productivity of soil and plants.
On other hand inorganic fertilizers enhance plant growth through the accumulation of organic matter and the biological activity of the soil, thus preventing overgrazing and soil erosion. Scientifically talking, fertilizers are used to provide three major nutrients to plant which are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium known.
